Lima was out first stop in Peru. We spent about 2 days in Lima as we were on our journey to our final destination, Machu Picchu.
We had a limited amount of time so we did not get to see everything but we saw many of the beautiful things this city has to offer.
Miraflores
Miraflores is one of the main neighborhoods in Lima which is really popular among tourists. They had a ton of great restaurants, parks, and a beautiful coast to see. Miraflores is also known for it's food scene with so much to try from Ceviche, known as Perus National dish to Chifa which is a mixture of Chinese elements fused with traditional Peruvian ingredients and traditions.
One of the restaurants we were advised to try for Ceviche is Punto Azul . Some say it is the best Ceviche you can have in Miraflores and although I thought it was great, I did not try any other Ceviche dish to compare it to.

Parque del Amor
Parque del Amor (Park of Love) is a park on the coast of Lima that is dedicated to love! The park opened on Valentines Day in the early 90s and it has been a popular site when visiting Lima. The park overlooks the bay and it is great for relaxation, picnics, or to take a nice walk with a scenic view. There are many curling mosaics that are bright in color and design and have romantic phrases written on them by Peruvian Poets.

One of the most popular sculptures to see is El Beso (The Kiss) by Peruvian artist Victor Delfín.

Costa verde
We took a stroll along the Costa Verde where we were able to see the beautiful mountains collide with the ocean.
Mercado Indio
No matter where I go, I love to explore markets. I love looking at all the art and hand made items you can find at markets. In the Mercado Indio I found a ton of beautiful things I wanted to take home with me and a bunch of souvenirs to bring back to my friends and family.
Barranco Neihborhood
The Barranco Neighborhood was my favorite part of Lima. Barranco is known as the bohemian neighborhood of Lima and it definitely lives up to its reputation. Barranco is filled with colorful buildings and amazing street art.
Parque de la Reserva - Lima Water Show
The water show was great! We watched the spectacular water turn into various colors and designs as it danced to popular and classical music. At one point the water served as a screen as it projected images of people and nature to tell a story.
